Yeah, why didn't Slingy make the original list?
And Leedy made super characterful drums. Also Premiers have a lot of appeal

Yes Leedy. Also, Yamaha comes to mind when think of bop kits.
Yes. My first experience playing a true bop kit configuration was an 18/12/14 Recording Custom back in the 1990s. But even these days, the Stage Custom Bop kit is all I use on my actual bop gigs. Although just about every other kit I own is considered to be a "better" kit, I see no reason to upgrade from the SC Bop.

I'm loving my new Ludwig orphans kit! 16x12,14x12,10x7, kinda like a cross between a Breakbeat & a poor man's Jazzette. The 16x12 is a 6 ply & with an Emad it's definitely not in exactly in Bop territory. Probably closer to Little Rock :joker:
