Borrowing from Nacci’s post, what are some favorite brush cuts?
A couple of mine are -
“Billy Boy“ Philly with Miles
The opening/closing from “ Petticoat Junction”
among many, many others...

In the big band I usually follow instructions on the chart. My latest favorite it "The Brush Off," by the Diva Jazz Orchestra.

In a small group, whatever song we're about to play. The implement I choose often depends on my mood at the time. Luckily my band doesn't mind.

I got interested in brushes listening to Gene Krupa and the Benny Goodman trio and quartet recordings. To play, "Cute" and "Four" are fun as is almost any Bossa Nova tune.

Roy Haynes on “Stolen Moments” (seeing him later this month, pumped).

Philly Joe on “Billy Boy”

Cobham on “Open Country Joy”

and Bonzo on “Rain Song”.

There's a track on an early 60s Joe Morello recording, "When Johnny Comes Marching Home", crispest brush sound ever.
I tired to find a yt video of it, instead I found this. First track has a similar feel, JM always had this sound:
