Favorite Ride Cymbal?

I love my 20" Sabian HH Classic Ride, and my 20" pre-serial 602. Next in the bag is going to be a 21" HH Vintage Ride.

I recently picked up a Paiste Traditional 18” Light Flat Ride which is my new favorite. I was looking for a ride that was more suitable for lower volume gigs and this one is perfect. Sounds SWEET. A perfect mix of ping and wash and never gets out of control. Definitely a keeper.

On the other hand my 21" A. Zildjian Sweet Ride (that I bought on eBay for the same purpose as above) does not sound sweet to me at all. Sounds like an ordinary ride cymbal with some tape on it. I don't get it, so many people rave about this cymbal. Maybe I have a lemon. Not a keeper.

Rudy Royston was using one of these, playing with the JD Allen trio. It worked really well - it has a hot sound.

Fave would either be 21" or 22" A's, both are from the '50's, both sound perfect to my ears.

20" Giant Beat. Sounds equally great as a ride or a crash. I have a cheap old 20" 404 ride I like as well.

I have several rides,Sabian & Zildjian.My fav is my 22" Zildjian K Custom Dark.It has minimal wash w/ dark overtones.
