I played my first real gig with my Craviotto Maple kit (24/13/16) outside with my Petty band. Man, I just love 14x24's! The kit was awesome. I used a coated Emp on the 13 and a coated Ambie on the 16. PS3 factory head on the bass drum. I also used my 7x14 matching snare which was wonderful. Warm, loud when need to be. I changed up snares for the second set with my new Copperphonic 6.5x14. It's been a while since I've played a copper snare on a gig and man, what a difference. Right now, my favorite metal snare over my usual preferred aluminum drums. Crowd was receptive and fun! Just a great day of getting back there!

Beautiful! Dan, I see a mic by the floor tom, how are you using that?

Our sound guy thought I’d bring my EAD10 by default which I didn’t, so we improvised. He told me after the gig he never used it because my vocal mic was picking up a lot of sound. Too bad as I wanted to know how it sounded. He’s not a big fan of using OH’s. He loves my EAD10 as an overhead. Go figure. Oh also, he’s really a guitar player I played with years ago who runs sound occasionally and does a great job.

Beautiful drums! They look right at home there. I want to try a Crav kit based around a 24” bass drum at some point. Enjoy!
