Nirvana? Rage Against the Machine?
Tool? Did they pedal anything?

A band selling merch is missing the point and changing the discussion.

Yes - we know drake and JT pedal junk. Others are doing it too. Got it.

1. That’s not true. Red Hot Chili Peppers never did an alcohol commercial (or any others that I know of)
2. You’re reinforcing my point that Mr.Grohl is a sell out, by saying he’s a company selling junk. That junk is not music. .
3. Did Mr. Grohl need the money? The advertising? No and No.
4. Do you work in advertising, Steech ;)

Haha now I get it! THAT proves that Nirvana wasn’t successful until after Kurt died and Mr. Grohl made the commercial. Copy that. Full circle.

You guys are making a bad faith argument...There’s nothing any band could pedal, that you wouldn’t be OK with?
Not trying to troll or derail this thread anymore than I already have. Too late.

Oh I’m not in any argument man. I don’t have a dog in this fight other than your post reminded me of an absurd commercial of Andre Aggasi’s mullet and spandex era Anthony Keidis.

While I have mixed feelings on the intermingling of art and commerce, I feel the sell out title should be reserved for those who have made being anti commercial a part of their art, and later cash in. I’ve always viewed Foo Fighters as apolitical and neutral on such matters. Same for the Chili Peppers. A Rage Against the Machine Nestle commercial would be a different matter

Is alcohol illegal ??
Yes, if you’re under 21 I think it’s illegal to consume or be in possession of.

it does also just so happen to be associated with a ton of bad things...domestic abuse, car crashes, gun violence, medical conditions, addiction, etc etc. just saying.

They are not only at Someone who is 100% for the music does not do sell-out commercials for alcohol companies. Who wants to fight me?

This is the point I was addressing.
I don’t have an opinion on who does ads and such … not my place as I work in commercials … among other things.
Most (not all, most likely) of these Artists are not only very serious about their music … but actually own their share of breweries and such.
Not just ads … actual owners.
The list is considerably more comprehensive than what I’ve put here.
I believe the statement
Someone who is 100% for the music does not do sell-out commercials for alcohol companies
does not hold up under the preponderance of evidence.

Again, I don’t honestly care who advertises what … I’m an adult and can steer my purchase decisions outside of a known “voice”.
But I do appreciate the passion under which you are working.

Just because you can’t handle your sh*t doesn’t mean the rest of us can’t.
