you kind of missed the nuanced conversation and my point...which was that selling ALCOHOL as a shill for a company was lame. And that doing so is not required to be successful, financially or otherwise. RHCP hasn’t done it, nor have RATM, or others.

But please feel free to post pictures of other musicians being a shill for alcohol companies.
Or post pictures of bands selling their band stuff.

Those individuals in the pictures I posted … and there were a lot of them … are not shilling ads.
They OWN the breweries, wineries, and distilleries.
They pay other shills to push their products.
Subtle difference … but one to take notice of.

On topic, the first night videos sounded great, and I expected nothing less. Dave did Cold Day in the Sun acoustic and think it was a good touch.

Maybe they did ask Hawkins' kid, and he couldn't or wouldn't. We'll never know.

There's no way they considered him. He's too young and too green. Playing one song at full blast at the tribute concert is one thing, keeping that up for a 3 hour set is quite another.

Oh - that’s fine. I honestly didn’t know that they owned those or make that connection, and why would anyone... at first glance most would think they are shilling it bc they are artists first and then branch out to that. Genuinely have no problem if they are selling whatever junk stuff they want and invest there energy elsewhere if they own the product. Agreed, subtle and important difference.
