5x14 chakte kok, DIY build with a shell by the now-defunct Morgan-Lamgmuir Drum Company in Rochester, NY. Mike Morgan told me that the shell was originally made to be built into a drum for Barrett Deems, but Mr. Deems passed away before assembly could begin. I found the shell on ebay in 2006 or 2007, drilled and cut beds, then assembled.

1" thick shell, which people assume would make for a one-trick-pony sort of drum -"loud and nothing else" - but it's actually quite versatile.

My Ava 15x4.5 jarrah snare; 1/2" straight wall shell, Puresound wires, Trick 007 throw and butt plate, dual vent holes, 10 COB tube lugs, low sheen natural finish. I don't recall seeing a 15" jarrah stave snare before, so that was the inspiration.

I think AVA is just one of the best out there right now. Build, woodworking, paint/gloss, perfect edges. He knows his stuff. Your 15" snare is beautiful
