It's late, sorry. Been in life hell lately but on the bright side I'm getting blood blisters from playing the e-kit for hours into the evening lately. Been a while since I had those but I'll take it as progress. Checking out the local new-ish music store that opened in town recently tomorrow for kicks.

Anyway, Devo. Pride of Akron, OH. That's all I'm going to say, their legacy speaks for themself.

Oh and yeah, Youtube sucks. Freedom of Choice isn't linkable.

There's some irony in there for what it's worth.

I LOVE Devo! Huge fan!
Also I’m impressed that you’re trying out an ekit. I hope life gets less hellish soon and the blisters disappear. Until then, make sure you whip it and do it real good.

Here is their best (and darkest) video. YMMV, of course.

Where's the songs off the first two albums??? Those are my favorites. The disco stuff is cool but the first two blew me up!

My fave DEVO stuff was recorded before the first album. The 'Hardcore' stuff (1974-77).
But, yeah, "Are We Not Men?..." and "Duty Now For The Future" are crucial!

Right on all counts, although some of their Hardcore stuff could have been skipped ;). But stuff like Fountain of Filth and Social Fools are genius. And the Hardcore Live album was awesome.

Btw, they have yet another hardcore album coming out.

Squirrel, hope you don’t mind me doing an earlier Devo five-fer but that’s my favorite era. You picked mostly good stuff, though. As a bonus, these are all live tracks except one, some with Alan Myers, some with Josh Freese, and the one studio track with Jim Mothersbaugh on a drum set he made with Remo practice pads, piezo pickups, and various effect pedals.

Keep on going and they'll turn into callouses. No one can play a Devo song I don't like.

Yeah! I caught them on the Hardcore Tour here in San Diego in 2014. Josh Freese was excellent, as always, holding down Alan Myers' parts. They played both Hardcore volumes in sequential order, and they played all of those tunes magnificently!
I've got the original Rykodisc CDs of those albums, but was very glad when Superior Viaduct issued them on vinyl 10 years ago:
