Dude! $250?!?!? I paid $400 for my three ply's on Craigslist, toms and kick only (granted, he was originally asking $550), and wound up dropping another $450 to get them playable. You definitely made out very well indeed. And, strangely enough, I sold the 13" to a forum brother and went with the exact same setup that you're going to. That 14/16/18 setup is so comfortable for me that the kit practically plays itself (the bigger the target, the better in my case!).

What you see is what I got. No cymbals or hardware, (other than the Atlas snare stand in the pictures). Right now I plan on using the cymbals from my current kit and then slowly add Ludwig hardware to the Vistas as time and money allow. I hope mixing some Tama Road Pro hardware in won't anger the drum gods too much. Like I said in my opening post, the missing hardware is on the way from Ludwig, (didn't want to mess with ebay right now). The one piece that may be hard to replace is the B/O badge on the bass drum. Half of it is missing. Any ideas as to where I should look for a replacement?

Just in case you're curious, here's a shot of my current kit. Tama Superstar Hyper Drives EFX in White Satin Haze.

There are repro B/O badges out there you can buy. We discussed them here not too long ago.

The only problem is there are also fake Vistalites out there too and one of the ways to spot them is to look for a fake badge...so if you put the new fake badge on your drum it might lead to some confusion sometime down the road if you ever go to sell the drum.

Real B/O badges do pop up on ebay too.

i think for a high end vista kit like that, you might be better with leaving the badge as is. maybe if you want to change it for the sake of it looking better or being complete, then do so but maybe take some documenting pics of whats on it now and keep that old badge put back. all this would only matter down the road if and when you went to sell them. i think a repro badge would devalue a beautiful set like that. just my opinions. i love them.

Thats 1500 worth of drums minimum maybe more on a good day. The snare and 18 have to be around six or seven hundred alone. Very nice. I remember those tequila sunrises at the Casino in Falmouth back in the 70's. OJ, grenadine and vodka. Yick.
Look for a badge on ebay maybe you can find a fairly close number. Document the existing, keep the old badge and it shouldn't effect the value that much.

Sorry for the delay in responding. Been at work all day and the Dept of Roads, (where I work), frowns on personal use of the internet. Had to wait untill I got home to check the forum.
To answer the question almost everyone asked: 250.00
This kit will be a nice contrast to the one I'm gigging with now. 6 piece 2007 Tama Superstar Hyper Drive EFX Limited Edition. And yes, the Vistas are the Pro Beat configuration in pattern A, Tequila Sunrise.
I've already given them a good going over checking for cracks and so far haven't found any. When they are ready for the stage, I may set them up in the same way "Bonzo" did with the 14x10 on a snare stand and play them as a 5 piece Zep setup. Now I'll have to be on the lookout for a 6.5 x 14 402 Supra.
In case anyone wonders, I call myself "The Fossil" because I've been playing drums since 1966 and I'm 56 years young. Our band is called "The Ezra Jaynz Band" and we play Classic Rock, Blues and Boogie. Three of the four members are over 50 and we are playing the songs we grew up listening to.

At 56, you fit in very well around here. Welcome. This is the best drum forum. The rest are mostly populated my wankers and kids without a clue, although the smart, dedicated kids always wind up here if they're serious. Vistalites aren't my thing, but you got a great deal.

Isn't Ludwig doing the B&O badge again?
Couldn't he get the needed badge(s) through them?

They do but I'd be very surprised if you could get one from them. Particularly with fake vista drums floating around.

That would sort of be like Chevrolet selling VIN plates.

Not sort of like that--EXACTLY like that. I have railed against bogus decals on guitars and bogus drum badges/serial numbers for many years. You stated the whole argument in one succinct sentence.

K.O., leedybdp,

Thanks for your comments.
I didn't think of it like that, but I guess you're right.
