I have two of these. Really like them!
Me too. One in my trap case for gigs, and one on my home practice kit. I've been a proponent of the Gibraltar Skinny Throne for about a year now. I think I mentioned it in the tour of my drum room - if not, I meant to.

Highly recommend it. I know we all want/need a comfortable throne, but lugging a throne to a gig that weighs as much as a small person is completely impractical for me.

Edit: I meant to include this little video for the Gibraltar folks.

I've been eying the Rogers single braced throne. I'm going to have to look into the Gibraltar one as well.
They have 2 out now, the original and this thicker, more expensive one.

Interesting. No complaints from my daughter yet, but she has only used it a few times. It may matter that she only weights 100lbs.

30 minutes on the skinny top and I feel it .

Houndog, about 20 years ago or so Yamaha was selling a rectangular mesh throne. Heavy bottom as all double braced Yamaha is but it's really a comfortable throne. Although I prefer gigging with my roc n soc, there are times I want or have to tote less. That mesh throne was discontinued long ago and I see them on reverb and eBay occasionally. Mine is still holding up great. It is canted from back to front and is really a comfortable mesh that keeps my rear end from being sweaty in hot gigs.

I just need a lighter weight bottom that is durable enough for the throne top.
I have that same Yamaha throne and it has been a lifesaver for me. Grab a DS750 and use that base with it. Substantial weight savings!

Yep , now I’m wondering how much John DeChristopher weighs ??

I just saw this... made me laugh! I'm an "imposing" 145 lbs! Usually a little less by the end of a gig... :)
I used it Friday night , 2 -50 minute sets .

It worked fine ; my cute butt wasn’t even a thought …..
Glad it worked fine for you. I do love mine. It may not be the world's most comfortable throne, but the tradeoff of having a lightweight throne that doesn't require a separate trap case is worth it to me...

I'm 205-215, and I also really like the skinny top. My studio throne is a Porter and Davies though, which is VERY hard, so maybe I've habituated to that :)

Don’t think I’d want to use it for a 2-3 hour rehearsal, practice session …
But then I’m home and not worried about carting it ..
That’s why I bought , so I wouldn’t have to take my other thrones to shows …

I never play 4 set gigs anymore ….

I've been looking for one of those for years.
