Decided...January 31st....NOT TO SELL THESE.
Thanks for looking

Drums only are included in the sale
The stands, the cymbals and front bd mute are not for sale.

20, 12, 14 with matching snare.
Gold Sparkle wrap.
Late 50s.
Bd, 12 tom and snare are 3ply, the 14 floor tom is 6ply. The drums were shipped from the Gretsch factory with this mix of plies as was not uncommon at that time of transition fro 3 to 6 ply.

I bought them Sept 2009 from the daughter of the original owner.

One if not THE classic most important landmark bebop recording concert ever ever evereverev recorded. Ever.

..and you own it man..
............you may not have the gladstone floor brackets; that's an earlier by a few years (..) set(and probably every drum 3 ply...
Still...you're close and yours looks nicely aged- as that above would be- today

ps please listen to that show above- everyone- Max plays some beats- you have to wait for them- that remain among the greatest of all time . especially the middle tune. Split second at 23:00

Wow! Thanks JDA!
Mine have the 'secret' silver sealer - no paper tags. The drums were made in late 59...early 60...bought in Canada in 1960. I repainted...carefully...the silver sealer. Ray Ayotte touched up the edges....in his words 'keeping to the original intentions.' Rob Cook...wrote in his appraisal of the drums in early 2010....that my paint and Ray's work should not affect the value.
Thanks again for the video links.

I gave some lugs and maybe t-rods and this 37 William F. Ludwig 14x12 drum to go with the sale. The William F. Ludwig sticker is in bad shape but still recognizable. The sticker is a bit of a rarity as it was only used for a shirt while. Conn owned the Ludwig name at the time and threatened a law suit if Mr. Ludwig didn't stop using it. WFL was born.
