Gretsch no line COB round badge snares.

Anyone know approximately what years the above were made vs the ones with the marks in the middle of the shells ? Thanks

Think the ones with the mark were mid-60s, mine without the line has the serial number 20994.

I had one. Used it for years in the clubs. It cut thru the guitarists amps nicely .

I said no line and I meant no etching. Gretsch never had lines ( like Rogers) but usually had etching in the middle but for a short time in the early 60s their COB shells had no etching.

Yes, I got you. They started with a smooth shell without the etched stripe in 1960/1961 and added the etching mid 60s, maybe a little earlier. I have seen one with the etching with a low 30000 serial number. Mine has the smooth shell.

I have one. Honesty I like the look of the etching a little better but nonetheless this is a great drum. I'll have to check the number later. It may not have a paper tag inside.

Based upon the information that I have been gathering, the center decorative markings were introduced in the 56000-58000 serial number range. This corresponds with the 1965-1966 time period.

I have one now and I had one before. Pretty rare. My understanding is 61-62. I dont have the G. Book handy or the drum.....guess I should bring both to work!

Never had one but had a 61 Rogers Dyna with a flat panel Gretsch shell as it were these were the first brass Dynas. Rogers and Gretsch were good buds. Fine sounding dynas best ever made imho
Sold it cause somebody offered me ludicrous sums of cash
