Gretsch RB snare. Deep factory cut snare bed and tight wrap.

I had recently purchased a 5 -1/2 x 14 RB snare that has those deep factory cut snare beds and an oversized shell. Big wrinkles near snare bed when I try to tension. The entire drum has not been modified and seems to be from about 1966. I'm not sure I want to cut back the wrap or mess with the edges at this point. Do I Dremel the Remo Amb. head ? Thoughts?

Aquarian makes a snare side with a slightly oversized hoop that might work for you. American vintage

Remo vintage ambassador supposedly is larger. Ludwig snare sides have a narrow collar. I've had luck with my vintage Gretsch. Sometimes just nudge it and hope u don't need to take it off.
