$950 - Motivated seller - Make An Offer!

Sizes: 22x18 virgin bass, 12x8 tom, 13x9 tom, 16x16 flr tom, 14x5.5 matching snare.

Pewter square badges are rare, and although hard to identify, everything about this kit indicates it was a prototype for a Renown line, approx yr. 2000. Triple-flange hoops, silver sealer. Includes 2 mounting brackets (stand not included), and floor tom legs. Brand new Evans G2 batter heads, original Gretsch reso heads, new Evans EMAD and new Gretsch reso on the kick, and new Evans dampener rings. Kit has only been out of the basement a few times, wide tuning range, sounds great!

Prefer local pick-up (Denver, CO) but will deliver through eBay or Reverb for better shipping costs to you ($150-$200).

Hey Dave! After some 30 yrs I wanted to get back into playing, swapped my old Pearl Export dbl bass and a few $$$ for the Gretsch at a local drum shop. At that point I was sold on Gretsch and now own a Cat Club, a Brooklyn and this Renown. But it's time to thin my small herd. The labeling confused me, as have others. The shop owner knew they weren't Cat's because of hardware, silver sealer and quality of sound, and not USA's because no tags inside. Here's a couple responses from a Gretsch FB group:

"If I'm not mistaken they are what Gretsch called USA Maples, I had a blonde wood set around 04-05."

"These are first generation Renown maple drums. Made in Taiwan, all maple shells with 2.3mm triple flanged hoops."

And I got a clip from the Jan 2001 edition of modern drummer confirming they are from early 2000’s.

They're a great set, big powerful sound with a wide tuning range, and just pretty to look at. Thanks for asking!
