Planning on my first acoustic kit and was focused on a new Tama Superstar but have been watching the used market and this Gretsch Renown shell pack popped up for around the same price. BUT it has a 10,12 and only a 14" floor tom and a 22x18 virgin kick. Not sure about that setup for 80s rock and maybe a little country. Thoughts?

Good
and that's not a Hanger; that's a floor 14x14 tom Gretsch too.
Only trouble is you're never going to find that color (to add or subtract pieces)
But I think you'll like the tom sizes.

I have the same era Renown with die cast hoops and same badges. My 14" is my favorite drum on the set.

Finding an add-on in that finish is not likely, IMO. But, if you can live with the 14" being your lowest voice and the price works, you will love the drums, I bet.
