1970’s Premier 200x (not in the catalog). Mahogany shell with the rare gut snares on a flobeam strainer. Never saw another one like it in my 30 years of collecting Premier drums.

I never had a lot of sparkle snares (or full kits), here are the only two I have photos of and the only two I remember owning for any length of time.

The blue one is my very first snare drum ever, a 6's REMCO 5”X 14” Fiberglass shell with hand laid fiberglass in blue gelcoat. This was made by a boat maker in the early 1960’s in Little Rock, Arkansas with imported Slingerland style hardware from a MIJ Pearl drum. I sold this at 16 and it came home many years later with the matching set. The snare is the only drum I restored from that kit.

I built this 5X14" in 1997 for my son to play in Jr. High School band. Built as 1970’s Slingerland tribute with period correct Slingerland Silver Sparkle wrap and reproduction 1970’s hardware (sans Pearl throw off), it now belongs to my Grandson (his oldest child).
