Well, I took the '72 New England White kit out Friday night. I quite like them! My only minor complaint is the knobby floor tom brackets, while certainly plenty sturdy, are a nuisance to tighten/loosen/adjust. One has to put the key to TWO key-heads. Extremely petty, I know, but it bugs me.

More importantly, they sounded wonderful. I was filling in with a standard 4-piece blues/rock band with whom I have played before. Even the other members commented about how good they sound. Of course, brand new coated ambassadors, top and bottom helped!

Yes, yes, I know; they're set up backwards. I yam what I yam.

Dream kit for sure! Blue sparkle is up there with my favorite Rogers finishes, maybe second only to Blue ripple. Blue ripple kits seem to be exceedingly rare though.

I finally took out the Blue Onyx. Damn, I love them! 12, 16, 20. (I also have a 13").
Now I need to recover the beater 24 in New England White that I already have. I also bought another 24" shell only on eBay (early Big R, but still 3-ply).
I hope to find/recover/assemble a 14" floor tom and and 10" mounted tom. It'll take awhile, but I'll do it.
