Boomerang kit!
My first out of 3 Boomtheory kits!
Now,i own just two.
This,i bought at C&C in KC ,about 2003
For $400 with snare, kept the snare, sold the kit here in Reno in 2005.
2017,i saw it in a pawn shop,it sat for 2 yrs at $299.
I spoke to the pawnbroker, told him what they were about and he said he needed floorspace, offered me $150 out the door.
Couldnt leave it there. Sold a cymbal at another pawn and boughr the kit for $110!
They sound marvelous,rich,phat!
9x12,9x13,16x16,16x22,6x14
Heres the rundown on these kits.
Back in 2002 Al Adinolphi made 400 of these for Xmas for Musicians Friend, toms are 5+5 kellers,Bass and snare 6+6 kellers,he pre aged the shells in a sound chamber like a luthier does with guitar tops.
Then,he hand sanded complete round over edges, made the billet aluminum lugs, had made some Tom mounts like a nodal mount ie YESS but i didnt like them so RIMS were available.
With this combo of thin pre aged shells, roundovers and modern hardware you get vintage tone and modern hardware,i love what all 3 kits produce, they record great and live, they sing, punch and project, wonderful drums,Al does fine work.
$110 for a boutique kit! Lol
Its not a Ludwig though.
