Easiest way I hve found to clean my cymbals is to use Pearl's drum polish:

Ive used this stuff for a few years now. Cleans off finger prints and stick marks and leaves the cymbal protected from oxidation over the long term.
Much easier than cleaning a cymbal with some harsher chemical, then washing it with soap to remove left over chemicals, then waxing it for protection.
