I've got like 25 Paiste/Sabian/Meinl and I don't even play anymore.

I just hate to sell them as I hope to get a kit again one day.
And 90% of them are discontinued.

This is by far the most cymbals that I have ever owned.
And yet…I feel like an underachiever!

I'm here for you.

You can try taking Cymbalta, although in my case, it only got worse. I got up to 1,030 cymbals last year before I quit cold Turkey. (See what I did there? :-o )

The good news is, cymbals are always a commodity and continue to go up in price. I - or my widow - will do well when it comes time to sell my collection.

First step in the intervention is to pick a brand (one) and mainly stick with it. Have a few options within the brand, but pick stuff that blends with everything else you have. Then have a serious heart to heart, and ask yourself, what do I truly “need” here? Hey, I have a few too many, but I stick with Zildjian…so everything I own can be mixed and matched, etc. I don’t have a need to deviate.
...this is some sage advice that I follow myself.... I stick to Zildjians with one Paiste (a Stambul '65) just to try Paiste...

I flirted with some Paiste for a little while. Still have a 20” Sig Dry ride. But I finally asked myself, what am I doing and what else do I really need beyond Zildjian? Between vintage As (a few old Ks) and current Ks, I have everything I want.

That Stambul 65 is very rare here in the U.S, I bet you and I are the only one's on this forum that own them, I also wouldn't be surprised that there are only a handful of owners in the U.S, maybe less than 10, maybe only the two of us!

Interesting information...this is mine; an 18" medium ride....
One of the photos below shows it on the right with my '66 Ludwig kit....
Todd (Toddlittle827) was very helpful in my original DFO post with information on this cymbal ....

I agree completely.... I have mostly 18" and 20" Zildjians from a Type 2 at 1370 g and a Type 3 at 1514 g. to a number of 1960's from 1414 g to 1490 g plus heavier 20"'s in the 2000-2300 range. I like them with my 60's Ludwig kits
