After a lot of reading and YT videos I just pulled the trigger on these. Yamaha Stage Custom Birch with a 20" kick. Also got a Tama Stage Master hardware pack as well and a cheap set of cymbals to hold me over until I can afford the ones I want.

Great choice, I have the same shell pack in white, darn if that snare aint good.

I also have other kits including Recording Customs...they are better, but dang these hold a candle to them.

You'll be pleased with tone. I have 10, 12, 16, 22, with matching snare. They are versatile and sound really full. You have a beautiful finish there as well!

That’s a beaut of a kit. I could see getting one in the same color but in bigger sizes for my Florida kit. I leave a kit there to play reunion gigs with my old bands. Right now I have a Premier Genista (Asian version) Kit in smaller sizes which doesn’t really work for me. I’m a huge Yammie fan boy. This would be my forth I’d currently have. You got me thinkin...

Great drums and hardware...what cymbals did you get?
A Meinl HCS pack of 14” hats, 14” crash and 18” crash ride. I’m going to add a 16” crash as well. Then save up for a Zildjian A pack. But at least I can go jam with people now.

Congrats man! One of my kits is an early (late 90's) Stage Custom in 12,13,16,22 configuration and I love it! Yamaha has some of the best quality and best bang for the buck in the industry. Look for used cymbals, I have outfitted 2 kits with used cymbals (Zildjian, Sabian, Dream) and have found you can get used pro grade cymbals at entry level prices if you wait for the right deal.

VERY NICE; Looks like traditional sizes to?..when you can own a quality set like that for reasonable money, the decision to buy is easy. Problem these days is there is SOOO much to choose from...congrats!

Those are great drums. The drummer in the practice room below my band’s has the same kit and I get to play it now and then. The first time I sat down to play it, I really liked the sound and feel.
