wasn't there some Stadium band type
series..

that's what it reminds me of:

Not cheap
just "stadium-ized"
"attenuated A's" maybe
Be interesting to use as a drum set cymbal
or
"They are bright, have a clean sound, and the thin-ness of the cymbals makes them very easy to control with chokes and flips"

20". Just have the photos. I bought some cymbals once before from this guy and I know he favored heavier rides.
(As a side note, he lised Zildjian rides, $100 each and one in the pics was a Turkish K. I got pretty excited, but when I called him, he said that pic was a mistake, it was an old K, and not for sale...)

Is there a serial number under the stamp? You could at least figure out the year from that and see what models were available to compare it to. I don’t know of a database to look them up by the batch number but if you get that far you may be able to compare it to others cymbals and see what it started out as. The z inspired hammering doesn’t look factory so it might have started as an a custom or another brilliant model with minimal hammering

Were any of the z/z custom lathed? The few I have seen werent. That cymbal appears to be
Knowing the seller, I doubt there was any after market, custom hammering... but he did rewrap all his vintage Ludwigs and drilled his cymbals for rivets.

I would send a pic to zildjian. I did that and they answered very quickly. I got dooped by ERIC BINDER on what was suppose to be a 22” zildjian missing the stamp. Zildjian said nope it’s not our cymbal.

I looked a little more online. Some z’s were lathed but they all seem to have perfect geometric machine hammering. You sure he got it new?

Look carefully, that hammering looks like a home mod job.
The inner rings look cirfumcial (sp) the outer rings are tipped at a angle.
Look at the outer rings at about the 8:00 position, kinda' hinkey.
All over kinda wack, does not appear to be computer generated hammering to me.

Don’t think it’s Zildjian. Not a Stadium, they were all lathed and A rotary hammered (buffed on the tops only)… it’s not a Z-series either, though it’s got 12 rows of deep hammer marks on it… looks potentially spun-formed from the concentric rings. Unless there’s a stamp… might be Chinese, 16/17in. with a small cup.

It's 20" and has the Zildjian stamp/engraving thing.
