If You Were Going to Buy a New Drum Set, What Would it Be?

At this point after owning a ton of different brands, something other than plywood. I feel like I can get a great sound from almost any manufacturers mid to top level kits (and a few companies low lines like Tama and Yamaha).

Only thing I’d be interested in playing would be something like a Trick 3mm aluminum kit, Oriollo spun thin aluminum, or Jenkins Martin fiberglass. Possibly a solid shelled or stave kit.

I would love a DW Collectors in Antique Ruby Oyster (look it up) 24x16 13x9 16x16 18x16. I am seriously considering getting a 2nd Concept Maple kit in the Rock shell pack (and adding an 18x16 floor tom) but it depends on if they introduce any new finishes this year that I like.

I've enjoyed everyones replys. There are a lot of kits I would find interesting to own, but I will put a Sonor Vintage Series or Summit flamed maple kit at the top of my current list.

1. Oriollo spun copper -- the Bakar. 8 piece kit.

2. Yamaha PHX, also an 8 piece.

3. DaVille stave Bubings. Again, an 8 piece.

But that Oriollo...that's the leader by far.

Wish List? An NOS set of 50's to early 70's of Gretsch, Rogers, Ludwig, Slingerland. Some have shown up over the past few years.
Peter Erskine bought a Rogers kit like that. There was a '64/'65 WMP Slingerland about 1yr ago that had new cymbals, hardware, and cases.

I have no need for a new drum set, but I often find myself dreaming about buying a new kit.

For me, if I were to buy a new set of drums, it would probably be a Gretsch Broadkaster in tangerine sparkle in a 20/12/14/16 set up.
