Gretsch Broadkasters 22-16-12 with matching 14x6.5 snare. Good enough for Watts…

Alas, I’d go with Paistes

Dark Energy: 15 hats, 17 and 19 crashes.

21 Sig Full Ride and 18 inch 602 ME China.

Vintage round badge 12, 16 & 22 SSB, all in aged honey maple (aka my CW tribute kit, still in the works), my 5x14 DW Craviotto, and my standard cymbal set up with the addition of a China (14 A/K hats, 19 Soultone vintage old school crash ride, 20-inch boss for a traditional ride and 18 in dream vintage Bliss crash ride). I'm pretty sure I have a Zildjian China somewhere......

Of course I would use my early '70's Ludwig kit w/2 14x20's, 12,13,14,16,18 standard depth toms....
For the next toon I'd use my '65 Sonor's with 14x20 bd, 8x13 and 15x16 toms....
For the next toon an orphan set of '70's Gretsch....22 bd, 13,14,15,16 toms, and then onto a Bonham sized Ludwig kit, and then some Slingerland stuff..... A whole slew of cymbals and snares to decided on by the "lads", plus both my roto tom sets, and some gongs as well.
I'd have my Handsonic's and Wavedrum handy, a Drumulator and a Roland R8, an iPad and a trash can Mac, plus 1 bongo drum....size to be determined.....hey I don't have to cart stuff or set it up.....

Or I'd just play what they have on hand and deal with it....

This stuff I have, and think could work:

Classic Maple in Olive Pearl: 20-12-14, 6.5 Classic Maple snare or 6.5 Acrophonic.

14” old New Beats, 20” K flat ride , thin 20” old A crash ride, 20” Constantinople Medium or—if I can convince John DeChristopher to get me one—a 20” Crash o’ Doom.

Most importantly, a finely tailored suit.

The suit for sure!

Probably my Rogers Holiday kit with my Crav 14x7 maple snare. My 14” 602 SE’s, my 22” 2002 and my 17 and 18 2002’s

I'd show up with Neil Peart's set and have them ask, "what the f*** is that?".
I was honestly getting ready to post this. Good thing I read all the way to the end.
Since the Peart set up has been taken, I'd bring my Slingerland COW Buddy Rich 80N (13/16/16/22) with an Acrolite, and use my K Zildjians (13 Dark HH, 17 Dark Crash, 18 Dark Crash, 8 Splash, 20 Dark Ride).

I would have to go with a black nitron Gretsch. Johnny D has the most beautiful 70's Gretsch SSB set in black nitron. 22,13,16 with a 5x15 COB Gretsch snare. Though I have been playing mostly Paiste for years now, I would probably want to go with K Zildjians or something like that. Would certainly be fun except for all the harsh criticism from other drummer missing Charlie.

Thanks Kurt. And that’s the kit I’d use, though I have maple and BDP kits like Charlie. The black kit represents a certain period that resonates with me. Plus the Buck Rogers snare stands ;)

I’d try to match his cymbals from that period as well. 20” pre-serial GB, 16” pre-serial 602 Thin or 60s A Zildjian Thin crash, 60s New Beats and an old 18” A Swish (nice and thin) or an 18” UFIP.

That gets you in the sweet spot.
