I just played the best sounding Zildjian ride I've ever heard at Rochester Drum Trade. Prototype Kerope with K Con Bounce hammering. Amazing. I just don't need it enough to ask how much they want for it. To me, it sounded priceless.
Cool heads up. I hope someone here reports that they followed the lead and wind up with it!

Go back right now and buy it. I guarantee that years from now you'll be thinking about that cymbal as "the one that got away".

I live about 40 minutes away but have never been there. Is their inventory worth the trip?
Yes, lots of gear, vintage and newer. You'll be glad you made the trip.

It takes me about 1 hour and 20 minute to get to his shop from my home. The problem for me is coordinating my free time with a day that he is open.

THIS! I lived in Rochester in the early 20-teens and Jason at Cadence showed me a used, what I believe was a Zildjian China prototype, that was amazing. Perfect. I didn't buy it as I felt I had been spending wildly on drum stuff lately at the time. I went back a week later because I couldn't stop thinking about that perfect China and it was gone. I still think of it every time I see the vaguely similar but nowhere near as sweet China I eventually bought from him to fill that hole.
It hinted at harshness but was mellow at the same time with all the right hues of color/noise. I truly regret not immediately forking over the mere $70 he was asking. A once in a lifetime find that I short sightedly passed on.

Cadence Music is a great shop, with tons of gear. If you can't find something that tickles your fancy, then you are just too fussy.
