Living young masters Eric Harland, Brian Blade, Bill Steward, Tyshawn Sorey and Craig Weinrib! In any order, depending a day and feeling.

And yes, Duffy Jackson!
I forgot to add:

Shannon Powell
Tommy Igoe
Bernie Dressel
Terri Lyne Carrington
Sherrie Maricle

There are thousands of drummers who swing... My list is skewed toward drummers who can legitimately swing a big band. That's another animal altogether...

Who swings hardest, fastest, widest and deepest? Who slices, dices and juliennes vegetables? Who swings the most?

Who is the biggest swinger?
Every other Jazz drummer who ever existed, not withstanding, my money's on the late, great, Bobby Durham.

What does "biggest swinger" mean .....? What does "hardest" mean. etc, etc .........

it's all a matter of subjectivity .......there's no way to measure or quantify those adjectives you mention.

It's all personal preference.

Here are some guys i like. Some still with us, others not.

Max Roach
Art Blakey
Buddy Rich
Gene Krupa
Louie Belson
Butch Miles
Martin Drew
Dave Weckl
Vinnie Collaiuta
Steve Gadd
Joe Morello
Jack Dejohnette
Eliot Zigmund
Jerry Granelli

just to name a few .............

I may have missed it, but I haven't seen anyone name the most obvious drummer yet. It's Bernard Purdie. After all, he played all the parts that were attributed to all the aforementioned drummers.

You’re right! Sorry I forgot to mention him too.
