I knew him basically for being part of the Vince Guaraldi trio...what a master musician...I’ll listen to the “white album”; thanks for the suggestion Jda!

He was one of my favorities for sure. Especially the stuff he did with Mose Allison. RIP Jerry.

Really nice guy. An inspired and inspiring drummer. From a gearhead vista, I saw him play one of those Yamaha pedal floor toms, he really knew how to have fun with that. I loved catching him whenever I could.

I suspect he's also the drummer on this classic (although it's not mentioned in the obits, but he played with Denny Zeitlin who was the prime mover behind this, and yes that's Grace Slick singing):
