Hey everyone,

So I am heading to New York in a couple weeks and while I am down there am planning to get a second ride cymbal since I only have one at the moment. I know Jesse Simpson is down there and makes fantastic cymbals so I was talking with him and planning on giving him a visit if possible. I was curious does anyone have any sound files or pictures of cymbals made by Jesse Simpson as I want to be able to narrow down what I would like for him to make me. I know he has a couple cymbals up on youtube but unfortuntely most of those are smaller sizes as I was hoping to get something 20-21 inches. Thanks!

I’ve not seen/heard any of his cymbals in person but have seen some video profiles of Jesse and his work. Impressive.

We don’t own any of his originals, but just received back 4 cymbals we sent for him to work on. We are beyond happy with his service and craftsmanship. Here is a link to Jesse demonstrating all four of them.
Originally they were;
50’s A Medium Thin Crash 18”
95’ K Custom Medium Ride 20”
Sabian Encore Jack DeJohnette 22”
Hollow Logo A Series 24”

Here is him demonstrating all four before he worked on them. Y’all can judge for yourselves. These four belong to my 12 year old son, and he says they are NOT for sale. Lol

This is the 20” K Custom after worked on by Jesse, then my son and I added a patina over the course of a few days based off recipe from Zenstat and Craig Lauritsen I read on forum. The cymbal is magical, and weighs 1950 grams.

Jesse is a great guy and does consistently excellent work. I own a 20" original, and have also had him do some work on a couple other ride cymbals (no sound files unfortunately). I would definitely recommend dropping him a line and stopping by his shop in Brooklyn while you're in town. He seems to always have a bunch of available cymbals lying around that aren't yet up on his youtube page.
