The best photos I've seen (I'm an amateur photographer) were all Getty Images, so licensing some of those will give you the best quality.
Those photos include stints Jim did with Derek & The Dominoes, Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs & Englishmen, Johnny Rivers, Frank Zappa, Delaney & Bonnie, and others - he toured with
all of those bands.
Here are low-res (and watermarked) copies of some of the best photos I've seen of Jim.

Here's one of Jim from the late '60s. I believe he's in the Professional Drum Shop in LA.
Yep, he was in Professional Drum Shop, and I think this photo was taken in 1968 or 1969.

Speaking of which, the OP should contact Stan or Jerry (Keawa) at Pro Drum Shop to see if they have any unpublished photos of Gordon.

Please post back here and remind us when your book comes out. I would think its the first bio of Jim Gordon.

He had (or has) a brother named John Gordon. He certainly would have acquired the family estate and photos.
