I think it's just the dichotomy of them being worth so much and having an entry level setup. I personally don't see anything wrong with getting a kid a cheaper set, even for how rich they are. I imagine there's also a disconnect with how much a kit could cost and its quality. Like in Arrested Development, "I mean, it's one banana, Michael. What could it cost? $10?"I'd think most here would be happy they've shown a modicum of restraint by purchasing the most practical and absolute lowest entry-level kit you can buy.
