Recently I did a cover of Led Zeppelin Immigrant Song and one of my students requested I do a cover of Rock and Roll.
He really wants to learn the intro so I said no problem! And here we are!

All feedback / comments welcomed. I didn't play the main song note for note, I just had fun and went with the flow.
Thanks for watching!

Now you gotta get the foot going !!!

you know I debated the bass drum part so many times.. not a lot of people did that. So if you watch the video in full... each time we hit a break I play more and more bass drum.. in the last section I just let the bass drum ride like in this video! Check it out! Now I wish I would have done it the entire time.

I didn’t watch the entirety…
Good on you for knowing and trying it ..
I spent a night practicing it when I found out the bass drum was like that ….

Hola @spazapproved
It's been a long time since I've heard anything from Led Zeppelin, thanks to your cover I've heard it again and I haven't liked it again. Good sound!!

Well done! Keeping the left hand moving and keeping the groove is the challenge and you did a great job. Don’t worry about playing it note for note. John never played it the same way twice. Thank you for putting yourself out there!!

Great job. More people have problems with the intro than the rest of the song. Lol. It’s all about those ghost notes, and ya nailed that! Like a few mentioned…the busy kick on rock and roll is much of the mojo. Not easy especially when you’re focusing on that left hand. Again. Great job! I’ve been talked into ‘jamming’ that song many times over the last 45 years and I know I’ve driven a truck over it several times. Lol

Such an iconic cover! I do it with my band as well. For reference, I’ve studied the Chuck Berry comparison for feel.

Yep! Plus it starts on “3 and.”
