British Drum Company "Bluebird" COB, advertised as "Blue is the new black" (it is a "beauty") - I think this is the perfect drum design, just beautiful. It sounds pretty good too!

Someone painted it a long time ago. I was going to remove the paint, but then the shell nickel would be too bright compared to the rest of the hardware. I like how this one has double flange hoops.

Finished this one Friday, headed to its owner in the Monday mail. 4x14 . Shell is unplated nickel silver (brass that's about 60 copper / 20 nickel / 20 zinc), lugs/throw/hoop are solid brass and all made in shop.

Here are all my current Brass snare drums!

The two "black" ones are custom drums, using Worldmax NOB (Nickel On Brass) shells.

For some reason, I don't have a picture of the completed mid-60's ClockFace Powertone, but am including before/after pictures of the shell!

A beautiful 2012 Ludwig "Brass Edition" LM400B.

I'm down to "only" 3 Slingerland COB snare drums! A first-generation GK Sound King with smooth shell and a 1971 GK Sound King with the 3-line shell. Finally, I've got a rare 1970 COB Festival, which uses the same 3-line shell as the GK, but with a Rapid strainer and standard butt.

All wonderful snare drums!

Here are my guys:

Black Beauty, Sensitone with tube lugs and diecasts, 3" Free Floater, 13x3 Pearl brass. 2nd row has the shell for my 8" free floater but I currently have an aluminum shell on the frame, and a bonus Gretsch Bell Brass with Duluth hoops.

Side note, I feel like the ONLY guy that doesn't have a COB. ?
