That bird's eye bass drum... man oh man.
I just love those super old cast hoops as well. They always have that hand crafted look.

What was it originally? Raw brass?!

Yes! So far no arguments about what is "antique" vs. "vintage" vs. "old"

DB defined it as pre 1930, so nobody is arguing, even though my L&L Standard feels left out

You can see where the nickel is bright where the calf skin covered it
I just cleaned it and added the brass hardware to spice it up

When I bought this I knew it would mostly be a "wall hanger." But I had opportunity to play a '20s style retro gig in a theater. I put the ol' girl to work.

Distributors stamp on it as well.

Surprisingly, it takes modern heads.
