(Fillin' in this week-Thanks, Snappy!)

“There are two kinds of men in this world: those with a crush on Linda Ronstadt and those who’ve never heard of her.” – Willie Nelson
Love and prayers, Linda

As far as I'm concerned this was a showstopper!
Early days (for all involved)
With the usual killer suspects
Talk about pipes!
Nothing to be said

Willy Nelson is right.

Saw her on the 78 tour. Good grief!
She is without a doubt one of the finest vocalists of my lifetime … and probably several others.
She always toured with the best musicians. Russ was drumming on that tour. Just phenomenal feel.
Great selection of videos here.

My all-time favorite female vocalist. One of my favorites to go with the excellent choices above:

I had the pleasure of drumming for a Linda Ronstandt tribute show last yearish ….

I took many “ road trips” with my Dad ,
He mostly played country I was always very happy when the Linda 8 track got put in .

A Linda Ronstadt pop song in 7/4? Check.

Come hither looks? Got them too.

Bonus points: was used as a jingle for toothpaste ( Close-Up )

I always to try to stay out of the guest hosts way and give them room
BUT
Y'all are killing me posting songs (like normal, which IS welcome) but not including my absolute two favorite:

My sister and I saw her at the Summit in Houston, TX in 1977 or 1978 with Andrew Gold on guitar. I wasn't a big fan at the time and was just doing my sister a favor. That show made me a big fan of both her and Andrew Gold.

"Different Drum" was written by Mike Nesmith, BTW.

And a big shout-out for the Linda Ronstadt documentary, "the Sound of My Voice" -- unlike so many retro documentaries this one had something to say, especially about being a female singer in the worst BroClub years of rock (Glen Frey introducing "Silver Threads": "She's our favorite girl singer.") In the documentary, Linda calls it out exactly the way she played it at the time: back off, bro.

And...when you think of singers who probably could sit down behind a drum kit and knock it out of the park, Linda comes right at the top of my list. A class act.
