Man, i watched it yesterday. Enjoyed every second of it.

Ps. The snare Dave used on “Mud Sauce” would be an 8” tom (maple custom) he used on Rhythm and Soul album, with snare wire installed on the bottom. (While his main snare being his signature aluminum). I believe the album jacket also shows this information.

This was a really educational interview. Didn't expect such thoughtful comments about timing, styles, grip and so forth. Very open.
And the brush playing, wow. OK, it sounded not very well on his practice pad, somehow like a drunken rattle snake. But his playing was absolutely master class.

@BennyK , guilty as charged. This years marks 50 years of playing drums and I wish I learned to play righty way back then...

@Tarkus When it comes to education and presentation, Dave has it down and he's had it down since the 80s. And he keeps growing and evolving.

@DanRH , yeah I'm always looking for the sweet spot of balancing "gear talk" with career highlights, etc.

Strangely enough John, I'm right handed in most other things . The only way that I could get any sort of independence happening when I first began was to switch over . Things started happeing from there .

Being a lefty prevented me from casually sittting in on numerous occasions where I'm confident the gig would've been mine .

.... it also prevented players slicker than me from stealing my gig .... six o one, half dozen of the other .

I find lefties come at it from a different place , however my " one " over time became spongey sometimes causing grouping to become lazy until I adressed the issue , the bass drum as number one offender . I dream of having a double-double pedal kit where I could switch feet between hihat and bass on the fly . All sorts of interesting shuffle patterns , best of both worlds .

I wonder what Dave W would have to say about that . Academic curriculae are designed for the right handed world . This I know .
