I can see why Ludwig chose not to tap the new butt as a replacement for the 32. I got one from drums for sale. They will tap the new butt for $5. Didn't fit my 1995 Hammered bronze. Oh well will save it for a future build.

I replaced a 32 with the Inde Universal plate, which works great.
I've never had any problem, knock on wood with the 32, but thought I'd try one of these. I have them on all my snares that originally came with the other diecast butt which I don't care for
