This drum has been stored in the factory case with papers and keys in its factory box marked L2005 #103. The drum is essentially mint aside from some fingerprints from handling. It is #103 of 150 Aldridge engraved Ludwig Black Beauties. There are some minor marks at the bottom corner of the case that could probably rub out. Features scroll engraved gun metal brass shell, brass Diecast hoops and brass tube lugs, strainer and butt. I saw one of these go for $2500 recently but I’m asking far less. Asking 2050.00 OBO shipped to the Lower 48.

I'll say! That truly is a unique snare drum. Wow. They got the cosmetic theme exactly right.

But, I can't make out the engraving on the inside of the shell. What does it mean, or say?

The inside has John Aldridge’s (JMA) initials and I think 103 maybe written in the tail of it.

Thanks for the interest. Best I can do is $1800 shipped to the Norhwest. This box will be heavy and fully insured.

And this would be a generous, phenomenal deal. For those new to the Forum, Scott is an extremely knowledgeable vintage and boutique/custom drum player and collector. Great to deal with!

Just to give perspective this drum at the Chicago show sold last year for under $1000 with case probably one step below in grade than yours . It’s a tough market right now.

I think your drum is a 95th Anniversary BB.
Thanks for weighing in with that Bun. It could very well be that’s what the drum is known as, but here’s a pic of the label on the box mentioning L2005 #103. This drum has a numbered 103 signature badge to match the label on the box. I got the drum NOS from a store about 10 years ago. There were
150-200 made I was told.
