Ludwig long mach lug to classic spacing

Hello all- I was searching older posts here but couldn’t quite find answer to question I have. Thinking of possibility of converting a vintage Ludwig bass (14” depth) with the long mach lugs over to classic lugs with dual hole pattern, so I’m wondering would single hole of the mach lugs be in approximately correct spacing / distance from the shell edge to just add a second hole for the classic lugs and still look ok? Do the mach lugs also have holes in middle of shell (like club date) that would then need to be filled?

Think I found answer I was looking for after doing a little more digging… looks like hole closest to bearing edge can easily sub in as hole for classic lug… would have to see if front or back hole of classic would make sense… was looking for mahogany shell though and also learned the Mach fitted shells were typically 3 ply maple…
