Ludwig: was/is it a snare or a tom?

The wrap is tucked as it should be, with a little lifting. The snare beds look just like every other 60’s-70’s Ludwig 3ply snares I have. And….. the tom mount….. it is a tad crooked, the holes are not circular (one is wadled out), and it is too low. But the lack of fade is cool!

Insanely cool drum! Id me marching around the block playing it! The tom mount could have been installed to hold a post to mount a cowbell or cymbal or something.

Serial 804xxx is most likely 1970.
Thanks for the post! Seems like this is the gray area for 69 b/o in the mid 8xx.xxx. Pooled all the research guides, articles, etc... on the 69-70, but I am good either way.

I have seen one. It was on eBay way way back, kept a photo of it, and it was a 10x14 super sensitive!

You need to post that photo!

This makes 3 Mod Orange Marching Snares that I have seen- but the only completely Mod Orange and the only 10x14. Now I wonder if a Citrus Mod Marching Snare exists.....

Slightly OT- have any of the Psychedelic Finishes collectors seen a real 18" bass drum in either of the three finishes? Also- I have never seen a Citrus Mod cannister throne- any rumored to exist? I have seen them in the other 2 finishes.

Interesting that a lot of the less common stuff (in any finish) has surfaced in the Psychedelic Finishes- i.e congas, bongos, non 5x14 snares, 24" and 26" bass drums, and 20" floor toms. Haven't seen a Citrus Mod Club Date- but Jack Lawton has told me at least one does exist to his knowledge.

Mach lugs!!! I have an 18x20 in the late Psychedelic Red with Mach Lugs- I can't see any other existing. Of course someone converted it (poorly) to a bass drum.
