MIJ drums finally ‘restored’. Thank you DWSlingerland45

For those that followed, I just finished ‘restoring’ the MIJ kit I got from DWSlingerland45 for free that he had offered up awhile back. Also thanks to BennyK for Rack Tom parts at N/C. Completely stripped cleaned and polished and sound great...except for the hats and Mini Wuhan! : ) As beat up as ride cymbal is is sounds pretty respectable.

Thank you! I would gig these these without hesitation.
The bass drum was really the only edge (I’ll add pic)w/problem, but didn’t touch till I heard . I think fine as is. Nor on side than actual bearing edge. Good thump. May make it better if edge redone but happy with sound as is. Tiny little spots on edge on one drum that I filled and sanded..forgot which one! Snare possibly, but minor.

I think they sound great. I really didn’t know what to expect, but surprisingly pleased. Aquarian SK1 on bass drum batter w/Aquarian Regulator on resonant. 3 layers of Moleskin on batter head for beater. Toms have Remo Coated Amb. on batter and Remo Coated Dip on resonant. Snare has Remo Hazy Amb on snare side and Remo Amb X on top.(for now. Just had that head laying around. I usually use Aquarian Coated or Remo Coated Amb. The Remo’s coating on snares were just wearing to quick.)I don’t think I can directly post a video on DF. I don’t have a video but could take one.
I had to get rims and t-rods(swivel nuts also as different thread) for bottom heads of toms, new heads, and a tom mounting system. The rest was all cleaning/polishing.

Absolutely spectacular! Kudos to you! I think I'm going to load up all my drums that are awaiting a restoration and/or detailing and drive them out to you...and I live in southern California!! My girlfriend loves road trips!
