So impressed!!!! Wow what a great job she did.
I have a 13-year old granddaughter and I would be driving around town with her on the top of my car if she could do that. Tell that young lady she has blown away some old Rush fan dude in Kentucky! Lol.

Good for her, she did an outstanding job, I can only imagine how proud you are!

After watching, it makes me wish I would have started out earlier on an instrument instead of wasting time on what amounted to nothing.

This is great! My older daughters have started learning some piano by ear and it's so cool to see the kids go after it.

The icing on the cake is when you two play together.

For a short time many years ago I took up the sax to self teach myself another instrument when my oldest daughter was in junior high band playing flute. We sat down one time to play a song together and the first words out of her mouth were, what key? She stumped me before we even began.

You're daughter played that very well. She's got talent.

Congrats!!!!!!!

Let me just say, "Please thank your daughter for getting that song stuck in my head for the past 24 hours."

So great. Loved listening. Trumpet too! Just wondering if she took piano lessons when she was younger?

She did. Was pretty good at that too! Her teacher retired when covid hit, and she was just too ridiculously busy to start with a new teacher. She played double bass in the 4th and 5th grade orchestra before she switched to band and trumpet. She played guitar in the jazz band in 7th grade (which was ridiculously difficult, they play some advanced music for their age), but is playing trumpet in the jazz band this year because that's where she was needed most, and is a lot less homework for insane chord changes.

But while I'm shamelessly bragging on her, I'll just go for broke. She made 2nd chair All District on trumpet this year, and third chair All Region in the top group. She also had a free elective this year (8th grade) and decided to try out for choir. The audition was sight singing, which I'm about 100% positive she's never practiced before that moment. She nailed it, and they put her in the top choir. Then she won the Outstanding Soloist award at the choir solo and ensemble contest this fall. She's got a fantastic ear.

A great resume at 13 already. Congrats. One of the greatest pleasures in life is watching a child succeed. Please suggest she start writing, composing and recording her own music. She's not too young and has an obvious inherent ability. Lyric ideas as well. Ya never know.

She's got songs! Just need time to record them. We did this one together last year when she was 12. She wrote and played everything except drums, which I played. I also "engineered" and "mixed" it. Was a cool and very challenging (for me!) project. Some dads make a birdhouse with their kids, I guess I make music with mine, lol.

Well that's just excellent! Seems the die has been cast. Your production sounds great too. A few more of those and she'll have her EP. Time to put the band together and hit the road. You can work the merch table dad. You know how to work a card swiper right? ;-)

I'll never forget after the first take on the first track I played drums on for one of my son's songs he said to me " Nice dad, but can you play less professional?" I knew exactly what he meant too. It doesn't get much better than that. Enjoy the ride!
