So I posted up some photos of a couple of my kits and had some questions about all my snare drums.
So here is most of my snare collection.
11 snares are on my kits that aren't on the rack, (3 on my Yamaha, 3 on my PDP, 1 Sonor, 1 Ludwig, 1 orbitone)

And here I'll go rack by rack so you can see them better

The bottom of this rack has a couple of unfinished rebuilds and a new one I'm starting

They let you out of Drumchat? Nice collection buddy. Saw your kits on the Pearl forum the other day.

What bass drum? Did one roll away? :) Let me know what you are looking for, and I can keep an eye out for one.

Looking for an 18" or 20" Yamaha Maple Custom vintage Natural bass drum to add to my big kit. I want it to be a 3rd side kick to go with my piccolo and popcorn snare sound.

Great collection. What's the story on the racks? Self built or something you repurposed?

Yes they are ProLine racks.
I got lucky and Musicians Friend had them 50% off one day so I bought two.
The other two I bought on small GC sales here and there.

The quote was for my students as I had these sound blankets up in my old studio.
It's a great quote I should re-write it at the new place.

And my wife picked out a lot of those snares... if she says she likes it then that's more or less a cue I can take it home wooooooot!

You sir have a problem.

It may be a completely awesome problem, but a problem nonetheless.

I have one of those PDP 8x14 snares. really a nice snare given the low cost.

I can see the post now... "Help me with snare buzz". Don't be that guy!
So I have a lot of snares on my rack's that I rotate or some that just sit haha
But because of this you can imagine 30 snare drums with the snares on or off make a LOT of noise.

So my solution was simple and cheap!

$5 pack a felt. Comes in a big square

Cut it into long strips

Then cut those strips to size depending on the snare

Put the snare back in the rack!

And no more buzz!!! Holy cow what a difference it makes!!!
