I'm getting ready to do some rehab work on a LM400 I just picked up from a pawn shop. I plan on replacing the P-85 with a new P-85 but I just realized that the cord holding the snares on is in pretty bad shape and I want to replace it while I'm at it. What is a good replacement that I can pick up at a hardware store or Target? or even Guitar Center or Sam Ash since they are open today. I'm not sure what places may card a cord that thin? Craft store perhaps?

Just curious why you're planning to replace the P-85. I never understand why that happens when I
read a for sale ad. In fact, that was what I was going to add to your "Pet Peeves" thread!

I’m replacing the snares and the throw off because the arm is bent and the snares are damaged.

O.K. The older P-85s are a bit closer to the shell. Not sure why they changed it. Can't remember what the difference in measurement is.
