Picked up a Corder snare off Ebay last week

No Fibes throw,regular snares.

No extra holes in pretty much pristine shape.

Original Corder logo head.

Thought Jim used the SFT 690 on all the new snares, but this is a standard throw.

Sounds fat ,warm and sensitive.

Not bad for a 30+ year old snare.

Good looking drum.

Did that model originally come with die cast hoops?
No ,I just added them.
Aluminum die cast I bought for like $30 bucks from China last year.
Note the before and after picts.

Nice! Thought about buying to put with my 4 piece chrome/wood set, but too many snares that go unused already. Funny to me how they went with 10 lugs, but used the goofy cheesy stencil brand throw offs and tone controls.

A year or two I picked up a 10 lug Lintone (?) which was also COW...with the cheesy tone control and throw...I was pretty sure it was Corder related because they had let/sold Cannon SFTs to use on their own snares (they're out there).

Nice looking drum! But can you post (or PM) more info about the rims and seller? I know there's been discussions about cheap die casts, but all the eBay and Amazon sellers have pics that show triple flanged hoops advertised as "die cast".....thanks.

It's been my experience that if the description says aluminum ,they will be aluminum die cast.
If it says die cast,it will be steel pressed hoops from the provider(only the Chinese stuff)

What bugs me about Ebay is you cannot alert folks to the fact that they are lying in the description about die cast
You can't return them either as it would be cost prohibitive.
I had a go round last year and just said eff it.
