Love the color. Bass is 14" deep though, not 12"?

It's a pain to get a drum set fully disassembled, but part of the fun is checking everything, putting it on and "hand crafting" it your way.......

when my wife walked into the room just now I had to shutdown my phone.
LOL. I do that all the time when I'm looking at drum stuff on Reverb, FB Marketplace or Ebay. I rather her think I'm looking at porn and not contemplating buying more drum sheeet.

Congrats OP on the new kit. It's a looker!

Yes I am almost certain the kick is 14" deep. I retuned it after I started this thread. It sounds really nice now. Very different from a 22" obviously, but now I feel I'm getting a bit more volume out of it. If I was in a better room I imagine it would be even better. Block basements suck.

I´m using an 18" bass drum a lot these days and I tune it quite low. What makes a huge difference is the Tama Classic Pedal which strikes almost dead center when the post is set in the lowest position and beater almost fully extended. Massive sound.
Hey so thanks for the recommendation on the Tama. I was getting annoyed with the Gibraltar so I took the plunge.

The Tama Classic pedal is fantastic. Now that I have it dialed in I am loving it!! It feels so good.

Thanks again!

I picked up the matching snare recently from a fellow forum member. I'm really excited about this one. It came with a Remo, x14 single ply 14 mil head, which I didn't really like. I put a G1 on it and now I'm really feeling it. It has the P-86 strainer, which I really wanted.

Beautiful kit! I really do love them. I think I need to tune them up again since the new heads have settled a bit.

How do you like the atlas floor tom mounts? Mine doesn't have those. I'm curious if those were an option or if they are on certain years.

I don't like the size of them because it makes the drum very hard to get into a bag. However, the drum sounds so good I'm afraid to mess with it. Lol!

Yes everything was off. All parts bagged and labeled for the drum they went to.

Just to clarify this is a modern set. Not positive on the year, but newer and fantastic condition
Congrats on your latest grab Sammy!
That's a great looking set.
To figure out the manufacture date, look inside the shell.
Ludwig has been ink stamp in the inside of their shells for years. Older drums can be hit and miss with the stamps, but they've been pretty good about stamping the Classic Maple kits.
I think the new kits have a paper tag inside and the date may be on that.
Are you sure the bass is 14" deep?
It looks a bit "stubby" compared to my CM 18x14....might be a trick of the pics too.
Anyway....right on, dude!
