What keeps the weight so low on Inde kits? I've seen other people mention that, as well.

There is a great description on the INDe website but mostly its the removal of all the rubber gasketing from lugs and what not, thin shells and low mass lugs and mounts. They are very light drums.

I’m going to go ahead and call this the DFO setup since I wouldn’t own it if it weren’t for the forum. INDe kit sounded fantastic with the Salem Street Drum Company walnut stave shell snare. I learnEd of both companies right here.
Received lots of compliments on the sound last night, especially from the bass player who is a critic of...all things! Im still getting used to it (the little nuances different sets have), but I couldn’t be happier with the purchase. I do need to get a logo-ed white bass drum head though.
If you’re looking to get a new kit, and INDe is not on your list, reconsider.
