It's a great day. I haven't bought a new set of drums in 20 years. I've been saving for a while, and trying to figure out what configuration I wanted. Ultimately I decided on Steve Maxwell's vintage Ludwig build in the Downbeat configuration. This is my first set of Ludwig's, ever. Although most of my snare drums are Ludwig, I've never owned a full kit.
Red sparkle baby! I'll post more pix later when I get them setup

THAT is SWEET...love the box pics...and agree, Ludwig rules!
So glad they got it together...set-up and sound samples await...yes?

I just got home and set them up quick to grab a couple pix. Haven't had time to tune them or anything. I've never had
a rail type mount, so that will take some getting used to. Floor tom legs seem to be too big.
Fit and finish is amazing. Downbeat sizes 20/12/14. Matching 5x14 snare will be here shortly

Absolutely stunning! Pretty much my dream kit except I'd have a tom post instead of the rail. Totally jealous.
Congrats!
