Ooooh. Inlays on the... re-rings?!

I didn't know Tama made drums with rings, but I'm not in the know to begin with. Are they in fact rings?
I don't know if they still offer this, but the Starclassic used be available with or without sound rings.

Haldor,

Pretty drums!
I'm sure they sound fantastic. They certainly look it.
Maybe you could entertain us with a short video some time.
Congrats on your latest grab! -b

The Starclassic Maple are available with re-rings for Japanese market only or as a special order, built in the Japan factory.

I’m having the same sort of visceral reaction as I did the first time I saw James Bond’s Aston Martin.

Absolutely Perfect. Love it. Perfect sizes. I am also an 18" bass drum fan.

Absolutely gorgeous!! Maybe next time my wife and daughter go to Iceland I can tag along. I’d love to see your collection. :)
I've been there twice and I'll confirm that it's a very worthy addition to any itinerary! I mean, more for spending time with Halldór himself than for the drums, though the drums are amazing.

It’s the 20” Byzance Thin jazz ride which is actually my favourite crash!

Cymbals L-R: All Meinl Byzance
14” Foundry Reserve hats
20” Jass thin ride
22” Foundry Reserve ride
22” Jazz china ride

The drums sound huge. Low/medium tuning? How do they feel under the sticks? The Star's keeping rolling around in my brain beside a set of Broadkasters and Sonor Vintages. Such problems . . .congrats again.

Correct, low/medium tuning. I actually haven’t fiddled with the bass drum at all since it came out of the box. Never heard an 18” bass drum sound this big. These drums are most definitely going to see more gigs than expected.

They feel fast and responsive under the stick. A soft hit generates a LOT of tone. Love it.

They feel like the Stradivarius of drums.

That sweety bassdrum got more character, even punch, than all of the mega-barrels around you can hardly carry or find sufficiant space on stages to put them.

Your contented smile in the pics says it all... :)

Enjoy!
