Hey folks, the time has come to buy a brand new kit. I've bought used and vintage for years and havent had a new, out-the-box kit in over a decade. I found something online that checks all my boxes - brand, make, sizes, stain and not a wrap, huge discount from list price, free shipping and everything else...except the finish. It looks good but it doesnt give me that "oh, hell yeah" feeling when I see my favorite finishes. So, what's the move - get something for essentially half the price and checks all the boxes? Or wait for that perfect white whale to come along?

Thanks for any insight the group wishes to share.

whats the color; rare a wood stain doesn't have some appeal...
satin? burst? what is it... can just show a color swatch if you don't want to discuss the make

wood finishes are as natural as nature itself; rarely hardly disappoint unless...

Ludwig Sienna Fire is the one thats up for grabs. Would really prefer a satin natural or yellow slumber.

Wait for something that really floats your boat. I’ve found when I compromise, I always end up not satisfied. Just sayin....
I agree.

It doesn't really check "all" the right boxes if the color isn't right. You will always look at her and know she wasn't quite the right girl.

Are you thinking of getting the matching snare too?

Yeah, they would be paired with mostly Zildjians. Usual setup is 15" K Light hats, 24" or 22" K Light Ride, 20" Crash of Doom and 19" K Custom Hybrid Trash smash. Really excited to pair the K's and the oak/maple together but also would throw my set of A Customs on there too.
