I opened up this listing and wondered "where's the project." Oh, the hoops, clips, and rods are missing. Oh what a shame....and bad luck for the seller

Then I check the seller's other listings and there are the hoops for a "lot" of money. Sheesh. Well maybe he did that because the hard to find clips and rods were all missing.

Oops. Next listing has the rods and clips for $13/pair.

No doubt a nice drum before taken apart. Original wires. At least they're keeping the throw off, after-market muffler, and lugs on the drum for now. The next "project" owner can try putting all this back together again.
Or simply pay the extra $150 for the seller's parts to complete it for a net $425-$450. This drum probably came w/o a muffler being a "student" drum. So someone appears to have added a non-Slingerland example in an odd location. I still wouldn't part out the drum over that. Too bad a previous owner didn't use a correct Slingerland muffler and place it in a factory location. Basically the 8 lug student model.

Better check your math Tama. $622.00 plus shipping for the drum and removed parts. An ambitious ask for a "Student Model Radio King" with extra holes.

I got a few things from that guy maybe 10+ years ago. Disappointed to see he's doing the whole "parting out" thing.

I had that exact style snare about 3.5 yrs ago. 1958 Slingerland 5x14 snare and 12x22 bass drum.....1941 Ludwig tom. Orig heads on the bass drum and Ludwig. Came with a 1 owner group of 3 drums where they probably got the 2 Slngerlands new and added the Ludwig later. Along the way the owner wrapped the 3 drums in champagne sparkle. Those were the only mods to them. It never occurred to me to sell the 3 drums separately or part them out individually. Being a 1 owner "set" together since the 50's, and sort of cool, I kept them together. They sounded great too. Couldn't find any local interest in the 3 drums except from a reseller who offered $300 for the 13,22, and Radio King student snare. $100 per drum. They were taking up space and I wanted them gone. Of course.....the reseller immediately flipped the drums again. I saw the Ludwig tom being sold separately. And eventually the snare drum showed up on Reverb for $375 by itself as a "rare" Radio King. The snare then made its way to Australia where it showed up again on Reverb....this time for $495. Well, at least no one dissected the drum along way. I never did like the sound of that snare drum....too boxy sounding. But I loved the sound of the Ludwig and Slngerland bass drums on calf skin heads. Had that snare sounded good I would have used it in my '66 Slingerland champagne sparkle bop kit. That was the intent all along of buying the 3 drum kit.
